The Wayne State University School of Medicine is the nation's largest single-campus medical school in the country, with over 700 faculty, 1,000 medical students and more than 400 graduate students. The clinical electrophysiology program is affiliated with Harper University Hospital within the Detroit Medical Center, and boasts two new state-of-the-art dedicated EP labs.  Numerous device and ablative research protocols are implemented in the EP program. The program has also been designated a Center of Excellence and a recognized training center for bi-ventricular pacing.
  The position will be 80% clinical, 10% research and 10% teaching in nature. In addition to providing inpatient and outpatient consultations for patients with cardiac rhythm disorders, this position will teach cardiology fellows, electrophysiology fellows (when the program is established), medical residents, and students; and will also develop and supervise an electrophysiology/ECG/arrhythmia teaching conference that will be held weekly, as well as conducting one ambulatory cardiology session each week, with a focus on arrhythmia patients. Board eligibility or certification in electrophysiology is essential.  Expertise in all aspects of contemporary EP management is required.  Applicants will be considered at the assistant, associate or full professor level, depending on academic attainment.  A record of productive clinical research is an important consideration.
