We are very pleased that you will participate in the forthcoming 8th World Congress on Heart Failure - Mechanisms and Management. Please find herewith information to facilitate your arrival and stay at the congress.

CLIMATE
The weather in Washington, DC in July is moderate, mostly sunny during the day, with the possibility of clouds and rain. A light jacket for the evening is suggested as temperatures may cool down. Clothing is informal for all occasions.

The registration desk will operate as follows:

Tuesday, July 16, 2002 08:00 - 13:00 hours

CONGRESS KIT AND NAME BADGE
Upon registering you will receive your personal kit containing your final program and the abstracts published in the Journal of Heart Failure. Invitations to social events and your personal name badge are to be found in your personal envelope. You are requested to wear your name badge to all congress functions and throughout sessions.

SCIENTIFIC SESSIONS
The first scientific session will take place at 08:00 hours on
Sunday, July 14, 2002.
Please check the final program on site for any updates / changes to scheduling of presentations.

PROJECTION EQUIPMENT
A projection area will be available every day, 30 minutes prior to the sessions, to enable participants to check their slides prior to presentation. Please remember to collect the slides from the projectionist immediately after the session.

POWER POINT PRESENTATIONS
Equipment is available for power point presentations. Participants wishing to use a power point presentation must come to the session hall during the break, at least 30 minutes prior to the start of their session.

POSTER PRESENTATIONS
Please see the final program for the exact date for your poster presentations. Presenters must put up their posters by 08:30 hours of the relevant date and remove them by the end of the session day.
PLEASE REMEMBER THAT THE DIMENSIONS OF THE POSTER SHOULD NOT EXCEED 2.40M IN WIDTH X 1.20M IN LENGTH (8' X 4').
The congress organizer is not responsible for posters that have not been removed / collected by the end of designated sessions.

ATTENDANCE CERTIFICATES
An attendance certificate will be provided upon request for participants who need proof of attendance for income tax or other purposes.

An exhibition will take place during the congress and will be open as follows:

GET-TOGETHER RECEPTION
The Get-Together Reception, which will take place in the Exhibition Area of the Hyatt Regency Washington on Capitol Hill on Saturday, July 13 at 18:30 hours.

INSURANCE
The Congress Secretariat and Organizers cannot accept liability for personal accidents or loss of or damage to private property of participants, students and accompanying persons, either during or indirectly arising from the 8th World Congress on Heart Failure - Mechanisms and Management. Participants should make their own arrangements with respect to health and travel insurance.
